Marrakech to Taghazout transfer
A private Marrakech to Taghazout transfer covers 270 km in 3h15–4h door-to-door and starts from €88 for the whole car, not per person. The A7 motorway to Agadir then the coastal P1009 north is the fast route; there is no direct bus, so the public alternative is a coach to Agadir plus a second leg up the coast. Fuel, tolls, luggage and a professional English-speaking driver are included in the fixed price.
Marrakech to Taghazout is the surf trip's first hurdle. Most travellers fly into Marrakech because the flights are cheaper and more frequent, then need to cover 270 km to the coast with board bags, wetsuits and a week's luggage. There is no train and no direct coach, which is why almost every surf camp arranges a private car.
A private transfer runs it door to door in about three and a half hours: collected from your riad inside the medina — at the nearest gate a car can reach, with the driver walking in to meet you — and dropped at the camp or apartment door in Taghazout, Tamraght or Aourir. Boards travel free on the roof racks of our vans and minibuses.
The alternative is a CTM coach to Agadir bus station, then a grand taxi or regional bus up the coast. It costs less but takes five to six hours with two luggage transfers, and coaches routinely refuse long board bags.

Marrakech to Taghazout: transfer, bus or taxi?
There is no direct public link between Marrakech and the surf coast, so the real choice is one private car or two public legs. Here is how they compare with luggage and boards in the picture.
| Option | Typical price | Door-to-door time | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Private transfer (Bacharide) | €88 per car | 3h15–4h | Door-to-door, fixed price agreed at booking, English-speaking chauffeur, flight tracking and one comfort stop included. |
| CTM coach + coast taxi | ~140–200 MAD per person total | 5h–6h | Two legs via Agadir bus station. Cheapest solo option, but boards are usually refused and the second leg is negotiated on the spot. |
| Grand taxi (private hire) | ~900–1,300 MAD, negotiated | 3h30–4h | Direct if you can find a driver willing to do the whole run. Unmetered, no roof rack guarantee and no fixed price until you have haggled. |
| Self-drive hire car | From ~350 MAD/day + fuel + ~110 MAD tolls | 3h15 | Good if you plan to chase swell between Imsouane and Agadir all week; unnecessary for a camp stay with lessons and transport included. |
| Fly Marrakech → Agadir | From ~600 MAD + transfers | 4h+ door to door | Rarely worth it: a 45-minute flight becomes half a day once you add check-in, board fees and the airport-to-Taghazout leg at the other end. |
Coach, taxi and flight prices are typical 2026 market rates set by those operators. Our price is fixed at booking and includes fuel, the ~110 MAD motorway tolls, board carriage, the driver and 60 minutes of complimentary waiting.
Riad pickup inside the medina
Cars cannot reach most riads: the medina lanes are too narrow. Our drivers park at the nearest accessible gate — Bab Doukkala, Bab Laksour, Bab Agnaou or whichever is closest to your address — and walk in to meet you, then carry the bags out. Tell us the riad name at booking and we will confirm the exact gate the day before.
For an early departure to catch the dawn session, allow 3h30 to Taghazout and add 20 minutes for the walk out of the medina. Dawn pickups are standard on this route.
Taghazout, Tamraght, Aourir or Imsouane
Taghazout village, Tamraght and Aourir all sit on the same coast road and are priced the same from Marrakech. Drop-offs are by address, not by village name, so surf camps up the hill and apartments behind the main strip are reached directly.
Imsouane is 60 km further north on the coast and can be added as a stop or set as the final destination — say so at booking and we will quote the correct fixed price rather than adding it en route.
