Which route do drivers take?
The standard route is the A7 toll motorway via Chichaoua — dual carriageway almost the whole way, well-surfaced, with a single service area roughly halfway for coffee and a comfort break. Tolls total about 80 MAD and are included in your fixed price.
The alternative is the old R201 through the mountains. It is scenic but slow, over four hours, with tight switchbacks that are unpleasant with luggage or young children. We only use it on request, or when the motorway is closed.
Best times to leave Agadir
Departing between 06:00 and 08:00 puts you in Marrakech before lunch with light traffic and a full afternoon in the medina. Friday early afternoon (roughly 12:30–15:30) slows down at the toll plazas, and the 17:00–19:00 peak around the Marrakech ring road adds 20–30 minutes.
If you are connecting to a flight from Marrakech Menara (RAK), allow the full three hours of driving plus two hours of check-in time, and add a buffer for weekend traffic.
Stops along the way
One short stop is included at no extra cost. The usual choices are the service area near Imi n'Tanoute for coffee, or the argan-oil cooperatives on the approach to Chichaoua, which are genuine women's cooperatives rather than tourist traps if your driver picks the right one.
