Agadir Al Massira Airport (AGA) is 22 km inland from the coast, so almost every traveller needs a transfer — but the public taxi rank, the shared shuttles and the rental-car queue are all slower and more uncertain than a private chauffeur. We've designed the Agadir airport transfer specifically for the most common requests: families heading to all-inclusive resorts on the bay, surfers booked into Taghazout and Tamraght camps, and travellers connecting onward to Marrakech or Essaouira.

Your chauffeur meets you inside the arrivals hall with a name sign, helps with surfboards, child gear and oversized luggage, and drives directly to your accommodation in an unmarked Mercedes-class vehicle. We track your flight, allow 60 minutes of free waiting, and charge a fixed price agreed at booking — no metering, no detours, no negotiation in dirhams at midnight.

Standard saloons handle 1–3 guests; Mercedes V-Class vans seat up to 6 with luggage; Sprinter minibuses cover groups up to 16. For surf travel we have dedicated roof racks and longboard-friendly vehicles on request.

Agadir airport to the surf coast: transfer, taxi or bus?

Al Massira sits 22 km inland and the surf villages are a further 25 km north, so the last leg matters more here than at most airports. Here is how the options compare for a Taghazout, Tamraght or Aourir arrival.

Agadir Al Massira Airport (AGA) — visitor guide

Agadir Al Massira Airport (IATA: AGA, ICAO: GMAD) sits 22 km southeast of Agadir near the village of Temsia. It's Morocco's third-busiest airport after Casablanca and Marrakech, handling around 2.5 million passengers a year on direct flights from London, Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, Düsseldorf, Manchester, Madrid and seasonal charters from across Northern Europe. The single terminal is compact and modern, with free Wi-Fi, ATMs (BMCE, Attijariwafa, CIH), SIM-card desks (Maroc Telecom, Orange, Inwi) and car-rental counters all in the landside arrivals area.

Because AGA is inland and the resort coast stretches 25 km from Agadir bay up to Aourir, Tamraght and Taghazout, almost every visitor needs a transfer. There is no train or tram link, and the public bus only runs hourly and stops short of the surf villages — a pre-booked private transfer is the only true door-to-door option for hotels and surf camps north of the city.

Agadir airport to Taghazout, Tamraght and the surf coast

Taghazout and Tamraght are Morocco's main surf villages, perched on a stretch of Atlantic coast 18–25 km north of Agadir. From AGA the drive takes 40–45 minutes via the bypass road and the coastal P1009 — longer in summer evenings when the corniche traffic backs up. Aourir (Banana Village) is about 5 minutes closer than Tamraght.

Private transfer (recommended): fixed €32 from AGA to any address in Taghazout, Tamraght or Aourir in a Mercedes saloon. Roof racks and longboard-friendly vans available on request. Your driver waits inside arrivals with a name sign and drops you at the actual surf-camp gate, not the village entrance.

Official airport taxi: the grand taxi rank outside arrivals quotes 250–350 MAD to Taghazout (≈ €23–33), often higher at night or with surfboards. Insist on the meter or pre-book to lock the price.

Public bus: hourly from AGA to Agadir bus station, then transfer to a regional taxi for the coast. Slow (1.5–2 h door to door), not recommended with luggage or boards.

Prices and times from AGA, resort by resort

Agadir bay hotels (Founty, the corniche, Marina): 22 km, about 30 minutes, from €20 in a Mercedes saloon. The most common arrival, and the easiest — every hotel here has a proper driveway.

Inezgane and the airport-side suburbs: 12 km, about 15 minutes, from €20. The shortest run we do at AGA.

Aourir (Banana Village): 35 km, about 35 minutes, from €31. On the coast road just before Tamraght.

Tamraght: 40 km, about 40 minutes, from €31. Narrow residential lanes — give us the exact address and the driver gets to the door.

Taghazout village and Taghazout Bay: 45 km, about 40–45 minutes, from €32. Bay resorts (Hyatt Place, Fairmont, Radisson) are five minutes closer than the village.

Imsouane: 80 km, about 1h20, quoted on request. The long right-hander is worth the drive if you are chasing the wave rather than the resort.

Every price is for the whole vehicle, includes fuel, parking, meet-and-greet, flight tracking and 60 minutes of waiting, and does not change with the hour of your landing. Boards travel free in the vans and minibuses.
