Erfoud to Agadir, the comfortable way.

The Erfoud–Agadir transfer covers 655 km in about 8 hours. It links the Tafilalt with the Souss coast by way of Tinghir, Ouarzazate and Taroudant, and it is priced per vehicle from €370, so a family or group pays the same as one traveller.
Who makes the Erfoud to Agadir trip
Why this trip? Erfoud is the gateway to Merzouga, so departures are often the return from the desert. As for Agadir, it is Morocco's sunniest resort, with year-round beach weather, family hotels along the bay and golf courses inland. Few people make this 655 km crossing in one go, and we would rather say so plainly: it is booked by travellers who have a fixed flight or hotel at the far end and would rather cover the distance in one private day than stitch together buses and grand taxis.
The road from Erfoud to Agadir
West of Erfoud the road crosses the pre-Saharan plain, past the khettara irrigation wells and Tinejdad's oasis, to Tinghir. West of Tinghir the N10 passes Boumalne at the mouth of the Dades gorge, the rose town of Kelaat M'Gouna and the Skoura palmery into Ouarzazate. West of Ouarzazate the N10 crosses the high Siroua plateau through Tazenakht, known for its carpets, and Taliouine, Morocco's saffron capital, before descending into the Souss valley at Taroudant. West of Taroudant the N10 runs through the flat Souss valley, lined with orange and banana orchards, to Agadir. Good places to break the drive: the Dades gorge at Boumalne, the rose valley at Kelaat M'Gouna and the Skoura palmery.
Arriving in Agadir
Agadir is a modern beach city rebuilt after the 1960 earthquake — a 6 km sandy bay with a promenade, a marina at the north end and the Kasbah hill above it. Hotels line the promenade and the Founty district; most have a drive-up entrance, so this is one of the easiest drop-offs in the country.
Should you split the journey?
At 8 hours this is a full day in the car. We run it in one day for anyone who wants that — with breaks every two hours or so — but many travellers prefer to split it. The natural halfway point is Ouarzazate: Ouarzazate is the classic overnight on the way to or from the desert. Book two one-way legs and the driver meets you again the next morning.
Before you go
Around 300 days of sun; winter days still reach the low 20s °C, which is why it fills with European visitors from November to March. From Agadir, Taghazout's surf villages are 30 minutes north and Paradise Valley's palm gorge under an hour inland. The return leg, Agadir to Erfoud, has its own page and the same per-vehicle pricing.
Private car, coach, grand taxi or train?
The fastest way from Erfoud to Agadir is a private transfer: about 8 h door to door for a fixed €370 for the whole vehicle. The coach is cheaper per person but adds a transfer at each end and roughly an hour of waiting; a shared grand taxi only leaves once six seats are sold.

| Self-drive hire car | ~€110 per day + fuel | 8 h 30 | Yes | Flexible, but you handle the mountain passes, city parking and the deposit hold. |
Coach, grand taxi and rail figures are typical published fares and timings for Moroccan operators (CTM, Supratours, ONCF) and vary by season. Only the Bacharide fare is fixed and quoted at booking.
