Hiring a driver in Morocco: what to check before you book
Hiring a driver in Morocco is legal, common and — done through a licensed operator — straightforward. Ask three things before you pay: is the vehicle licensed for paid passenger transport (agrément), is the driver insured to carry passengers, and is the price fixed in writing for the whole car. Informal arrangements made at a hotel desk or at the airport rank usually fail at least one of those, which is where the roadside renegotiations start.
You are hiring the vehicle, not a seat, so the quote should never change with the number of passengers, the amount of luggage, the time of night or the traffic.
