Plan on about 3 hours for the 235 km between Marrakech and El Jadida, following the A7 motorway and finally the A7 / A1 via Had Soualem. The road from Marrakech to El Jadida
North of Marrakech the A7 crosses the Jbilet hills and the long, flat Rehamna and Chaouia plains past Benguerir and Settat to Mohammed V airport. From Mohammed V the route skirts Casablanca to the south, joining the coastal motorway at Had Soualem and running past Azemmour to El Jadida. Good places to break the drive: the Settat service area and the Sidi Bou Othmane service area.
Arriving in El Jadida
El Jadida is a seaside town 100 km south of Casablanca, built around a UNESCO-listed Portuguese fortress (Mazagan) with its famous underground cistern, plus a big beach resort just north of town. The Cité Portugaise is walkable and partly pedestrian; the resort hotels north of town have their own drive-up gates.
Before you go
