West of Ouarzazate the N10 crosses the high Siroua plateau through Tazenakht, known for its carpets, and Taliouine, Morocco's saffron capital, before descending into the Souss valley at Taroudant. West of Taroudant the N10 runs through the flat Souss valley, lined with orange and banana orchards, to Agadir. Good places to break the drive: a saffron cooperative in Taliouine and the carpet cooperatives of Tazenakht.

Agadir is a modern beach city rebuilt after the 1960 earthquake — a 6 km sandy bay with a promenade, a marina at the north end and the Kasbah hill above it. Hotels line the promenade and the Founty district; most have a drive-up entrance, so this is one of the easiest drop-offs in the country.
