This is the one Moroccan corridor where the train is genuinely good. ONCF runs frequent services from Casa Voyageurs to Marrakech in around 2h40 for roughly 100–200 MAD, and there is a direct shuttle from CMN airport to the rail network. If you are travelling light, unhurried and arriving during the day, the train is a sensible choice and we will say so.

Coming straight from Mohammed V airport (CMN)
If you are transferring directly from the airport rather than from a Casablanca hotel, your driver waits inside CMN arrivals with a Bacharide name sign after baggage claim and customs. We track the inbound flight automatically, so an early or late landing simply moves the pickup — there is no charge for the delay and 60 minutes of waiting is included.
Late-night arrivals are the strongest case for this route by car. The last convenient rail connections leave CMN in the evening, and a midnight landing with luggage and tired children is not the moment to be finding the airport shuttle platform.
When we would tell you to take the train instead
Travelling solo or as a couple with hand luggage, arriving mid-morning, staying near the Marrakech train station or Gueliz? The ONCF service is quick, cheap and pleasant, and you should take it. We would rather tell you that than sell you a car you do not need.
The maths changes with people and bags. Four travellers on the train pay four fares plus two taxi legs; the same four share one fixed transfer price with door-to-door service. From three passengers upwards the private car is usually the better value as well as the easier trip.
The drive itself
The A7 is dual carriageway for the entire 240 km, with service areas at Berrechid and Benguerir. Tolls come to about 90 MAD and are included in your price. Traffic is heaviest leaving Casablanca between 07:00–09:00 and 17:00–19:00.
One comfort stop is included. Many guests break the drive at Benguerir for coffee, roughly halfway, which adds about 20 minutes.
