How the day works
Pickup from your riad or hotel between 08:00 and 09:00, arriving at Ouzoud around 11:00. The walk down to the base of the falls takes 30–40 minutes on a stepped path through olive groves; the climb back up is the harder half, so allow an hour. Small boats run across the pool at the bottom for a few dirhams.
Most guests spend four to five hours on site including lunch, returning to Marrakech by early evening. Your driver waits in the car park the whole time — there is no extra hourly charge on a day hire.
What to bring
Proper shoes for the descent, water, and sun cover — the gorge is exposed at midday. The macaques are wild and habituated; do not feed them and keep bags closed.
Spring (March–May) is the strongest flow after the winter rains. Late summer can reduce the cascades noticeably, though the gorge is still worth the trip.
