Who makes the Aghroud to Imsouane trip
Why this trip? Guests leave Aghroud mostly for airport runs or to spend a day in Agadir's souk and marina. As for Imsouane, longboarders and surf learners come for the endless bay wave, and everyone else for the harbour fish and the sense of being at the end of the road. Between surf spots, the real driver is swell: when one break goes flat or overcrowded, the next is 30 minutes away, and boards travel free in the car.
The road from Aghroud to Imsouane
Aghroud sits on the coast just south of Tamraght, between the Aourir junction and Banana Point. Beyond Taghazout the N1 climbs above the cliffs past the Cap Ghir lighthouse and the banana plantations of Tamri, with the Atlantic below on the left.
Arriving in Imsouane
Imsouane is a remote fishing village on a headland roughly halfway between Agadir and Essaouira, famous for one of the longest right-hand waves in Africa, rolling into its bay. The village has one access road off the N1; the final kilometres wind down a hillside to the harbour, where most guesthouses meet cars.
