From Ouarzazate the road passes the Atlas film studios and crosses the plateau to Aït Benhaddou. From Aït Benhaddou the road joins the N9 and climbs north over the Tizi n'Tichka pass at 2,260 m, then twists down through Atlas villages into Marrakech.
